Job 31:21-30 The Scriptures 1998 (ISR98)

21. if I have raised my hand against the fatherless, when I saw I had help in the gate;

22. let my arm fall from my shoulder, and my arm be broken from the bone.

23. For I am in dread of destruction from Ěl, and from His excellence I could not escape.

24. If I have put my trust in gold, or called fine gold my refuge;

25. if I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gained much;

26. if I have looked at the sun when it shines, or the moon moving in brightness,

27. so that my heart has been secretly enticed, and my mouth has kissed my hand –

28. that too is a punishable crookedness, for I would have denied Ěl above.

29. If I have rejoiced when he who hated me was ruined, or lifted myself up when evil found him –

30. also I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking for a curse on his life –
