Matthew 27:1-7 The Scriptures 1998 (ISR98)

1. And morning having come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against יהושע, so as to put Him to death.

2. And having bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

3. Then Yehuḏah – he who delivered Him up – having seen that He had been condemned, repented, returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and to the elders,

4. saying, “I have sinned in delivering up innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!”

5. And throwing down the pieces of silver in the Dwelling Place he left, and went and hanged himself.

6. And the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not right to put them into the treasury, seeing they are the price of blood.”

7. So they took counsel and bought with them the potter’s field, for the burial of strangers.
