Luke 24:39-52 The Scriptures 1998 (ISR98)

39. “See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”

40. And saying this, He showed them His hands and His feet.

41. And while they were still not believing for joy, and marvelling, He said to them, “Have you any food here?”

42. And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

43. And taking it He ate in their presence.

44. And He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all have to be filled that were written in the Torah of Mosheh and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

45. Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

46. and said to them, “Thus it has been written, and so it was necessary for the Messiah to suffer and to rise again from the dead the third day,

47. and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His Name to all nations, beginning at Yerushalayim.

48. “And you are witnesses of these matters.

49. “And see, I am sending the Promise of My Father upon you, but you are to remain in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with power from on high.”

50. And He led them out as far as BÄ•yth Anyah, and lifting up His hands He blessed them.

51. And it came to be, while He was blessing them, that He was parted from them and was taken up into the heaven.

52. And they, having bowed down to Him, returned to Yerushalayim with great joy,
