Luke 11:21-33 The Scriptures 1998 (ISR98)

21. “When a strong man, having been well armed, watches over his own court, his possessions are in peace.

22. “But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armour in which he trusted, and divides his booty.

23. “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

24. “When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest. And finding none, he says, ‘I shall return to my house from which I came.’

25. “And when he comes, he finds it swept and decorated,

26. then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”

27. And it came to be, as He was saying this, a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which You sucked!”

28. But He said, “Blessed rather are those hearing the Word of Elohim and watching over it!”

29. And while the crowds were thronging, He began to say, “This generation is wicked. It seeks a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Yonah the prophet.

30. “For as Yonah became a sign to the Ninewites, so also the Son of Aḏam shall be to this generation.

31. “The sovereigness of the South shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and shall condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Shelomoh, and look, a greater than Shelomoh is here.

32. “The men of Ninewĕh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Yonah, and look, a greater than Yonah is here.

33. “And no one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a hidden place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in shall see the light.
