John 10:13-24 The Scriptures 1998 (ISR98)

13. “Now the hireling flees because he is a hireling and is not concerned about the sheep.

14. “I am the good shepherd. And I know Mine, and Mine know Me,

15. even as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.

16. “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold – I have to bring them as well, and they shall hear My voice, and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

17. “Because of this the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, in order to receive it again.

18. “No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to receive it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

19. Again there came a division among the Yehuḏim because of these words,

20. and many of them said, “He has a demon and is mad, why do you listen to Him?”

21. Others said, “These are not the words of one possessed by a demon. Is a demon able to open the eyes of the blind?”

22. At that time the Ḥanukkah came to be in Yerushalayim, and it was winter.

23. And יהושע was walking in the Set-apart Place, in the porch of Shelomoh.

24. So the Yehuḏim surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in suspense? If You are the Messiah, say to us plainly.”
