Jeremiah 23:7-14 Modern English Version (MEV)

7. Therefore, surely the days are coming, says the Lord, when they will no more say, “As the Lord lives who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,”

8. but, “As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country and from all countries where I had driven them.” Then they will dwell in their own land.

9. My heart is broken within me,because of the prophets;all my bones shake;I am like a drunken man, like a man overcome by wine, because of the Lord, and because of His holy words.

10. For the land is full of adulterers;for the land mourns because of the curse. The pleasant places of the wilderness have dried up.And their course is eviland their might is not right.

11. For both prophet and priest are profane;indeed, in My house I have found their wickedness, says the Lord.

12. Therefore their way will be as slippery ways to them;they shall be driven into the darknessand fall in it;for I will bring disaster upon them, even the year of their punishment, says the Lord.

13. In addition, I have seen follyin the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baaland caused My people Israel to err.

14. I have seen also among the prophets of Jerusalema horrible thing. They commit adultery and walk in lies. They also strengthen the hands of evildoers,so that no one repents from his wickedness. All of them are as Sodom to Meand her inhabitants as Gomorrah.
