Isaiah 54:1-6 Modern English Version (MEV)

1. Sing, O barren, you who did not bear a child.Break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child. For more are the children of the desolatethan the children of the married wife, says the Lord.

2. Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations;spare not, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.

3. For you shall spread out to the right hand and to the left, and your descendants shall inherit the nationsand make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

4. Do not fear, for you shall not be ashamed nor be humiliated;for you shall not be put to shame, for you shall forget the shame of your youthand shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.

5. For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of Hosts is His name;and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He shall be called the God of the whole earth.

6. For the Lord has called youas a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youthwhen you were refused, says your God.
