Luke 10:18-25 Modern English Version (MEV)

18. He said to them, “I saw Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19. Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20. Nevertheless do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

21. At that time Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for it was Your good pleasure.

22. “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father. And no one knows who the Son is but the Father, and who the Father is but the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal Him.”

23. Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see what you see.

24. For I tell you, many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

25. Now, a lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
