New Testament

Luke 8:14-26 King James 2000 (KJ2000)

14. And that which fell among thorns are they, who, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

15. But that on the good ground are they, who in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

16. No man, when he has lighted a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but sets it on a lampstand, that they who enter in may see the light.

17. For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come to light.

18. Take heed therefore how you hear: for whosoever has, to him shall be given; and whosoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have.

19. Then came to him his mother and his brothers, and could not reach him for the crowd.

20. And it was told him by some who said, Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.

21. And he answered and said unto them,

22. Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them,

23. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filling up with water, and were in jeopardy.

24. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Teacher, Teacher, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

25. And he said unto them,

26. And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
